Conditions We Treat

Cataracts

A cataract is a condition which causes clouding of lens in the eye resulting in blurry vision. The lens is situated behind the iris, the dark portion of the eye, and is not visible.

Retinal Conditions

The retina is the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye that allows us to see. Various retinal conditions can cause blurred vision, floaters, flashes of light, or even vision loss, and early detection and treatment are important to preserve sight.

Retinal Detachments/Tears

A retinal tear is a break in the retina that can lead to a retinal detachment if not treated. Retinal detachment occurs when the retina lifts away from its underlying tissue, causing symptoms such as sudden flashes, floaters, or a shadow across vision, and treatment may involve laser therapy, cryotherapy, or surgery.

Macular Surgery (Holes-Epiretinal Membrane)

The macula is the part of the retina responsible for sharp, central vision used for reading and recognising faces. Macular holes are small gaps that cause distorted or blurred vision, while epiretinal membranes are thin layers of scar tissue that can wrinkle the macula; both conditions can be treated with vitrectomy surgery, which often improves vision over several months.

Diabetic Eye Complications

Diabetes is a chronic disease in which your blood glucose or sugar levels are very high. Uncontrolled levels pose a risk to associated heart, kidney, and eye disorders.

Uveitis/Eye Inflammation

Uvea is the middle layer of the eye situated between the retina and the sclera, the white layer of the eye. It extends from the back of the eye towards the front and includes the iris…

Medical Retina (AMD)/ Retinal Vascular Problems

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) affects central vision and is a common cause of vision loss in older adults. Retinal vascular problems, such as diabetic retinopathy or vein occlusions, reduce blood flow to the retina and can damage vision, and treatments may include injections, laser therapy, or careful monitoring.

Surface Eye Disease/Dry Eye/Meibomian Gland Dysfunction

Surface eye diseases affect the cornea, conjunctiva, or eyelids and include conditions such as dry eye, blepharitis, or corneal inflammation. These conditions can cause redness, irritation, dryness, or blurred vision, and treatment focuses on relieving discomfort and protecting the surface of the eye.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is an eye disease that results in progressive vision loss due to the increased intraocular pressure and subsequent optic nerve damage.
